Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an excellent and well tolerated therapy both in its own right and as an addition to other physiotherapy modalities in the treatment of impaired mobility and pain control issues.
Acupuncture also excels in the treatment of chronic pain and chronic internal medicine disease states. Acupuncture works primarily by normalising the function of the nervous system, improved blood flow, reduced muscle spasm and reduced inflammation. Acupuncture may also promote positive changes in the neuro-hormonal (endocrine) system. The end result is reduced pain, reduced stress-response, and better body function both at a local (injury/disease) level and at whole body level.
Acupuncture may be useful for:
Hip Dysplasia, Arthritis and Degenerative Joint Disease
Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care
Chronic Respiratory Conditions
Chronic Renal and Bowel Conditions
Chronic Hormonal and “Multisystem” Conditions
Urinary Incontinence and Fecal Incontinence
Epilepsy
Equine Applications
We aim to combine the best from both conventional and alternative modalities to achieve the best holistic health for your animal companion. In keeping with this aim, we always work in good communication with your primary veterinarian.
